EDUCATING THE ESSENCE

Mythical mirage,
Is such magnificence possible?
Shimmering illusion in the sky…how I envy you.

Spirit of life,
Such beatific glory flows within our veins,
This is the essence of the dragon.

Here there be dragons,
Or so the elders say.
So strange is this land,
Fearful of such eternal beauty.

They don't feel the light within themselves.
I grow tired of this fight.
Trapped between this duality,
I have proven my worth, though I never meant to do so.

Take flight, my dear,
As I admire your strength.
While I grow ashamed of my hindrances; that which keeps me grounded: earthbound.

Graceful as the fae,
And yet, stubborn as a human.
I stargaze and watch your journey,
Praying I may someday take flight as well.
